Something piqued my curiosity earlier today. To anyone who's had a delay at any of the order stages or at any of the event codes--was it a build that you designed then placed with your dealer? Or was it a dealer build and you were able to place a deposit or a down payment on the vehicle to reserve it?

My order type shows: TRE-Retail Stock.

I placed a down payment on my purchase and the purchase price shows lower than the MSRP build on the Chevy website by nearly $1,300. The vehicle is a Z71 5.3L Suburban with the lux package, pano roof and 2nd row buckets.
My delay was at 3800 for over a month . It was a build that I put together and the dealer ordered . My order type was SRE- retail sold . The initial tough part was that diesels were scarce , so the allocation for that took about a month to become available too

10-4. Thanks for the data points. I'm assuming your truck was in the MID lot at 3800 for over a month?

Sure thing . I was never able to actually confirm with either chat or dealer as they would not disclose location but dealer mentioned it was built but stalled for a microprocessor shortage so I assumed there’s a 90 percent chance it was sent to midlothian.

Who actually informed you that the truck was ready to ship with an ETA?

You can ask for a screenshot from their vinview. That's how I tracked it back to Arlington after it had sat in Midlothian for months. If I didn't ask, he would never have looked and only would have looked at the code.

good point . I’ve always just asked if they could track the current location of the vehicle but never got as specific as naming “vinview”

Order 06/15/2021
Built 06/13/2022
Shipped to Midlothian 6/18/2022
Sat ever since...
I call/text/email weekly, sometimes daily. Sent a certified letter last week..

Likely coincidence but my dealer found out yesterday (despite no window sticker yet) that Chevy shipped it yesterday via TRUCK!!!

We shall see!
