Hey, folks. GMC owner of several trucks. First of all, I want to say that this site is a great informational tool and the crowd sourced information has been amazing. Just wanted to share my data points in case it could possibly help anyone.

7/2: "purchased" 2022 Z71 "built" Suburban from dealer in Orlando. Was given ETA of +/- 30 calendar days. Credit reports were ordered and terms with a non GM lender were offered. Was told a $3k down-payment was required to secure the vehicle and my trade allowance price. I gave a $5k down-payment and signed a buyers order.

Vehicle build sheet/locator sheet showed event code 4300 for intermediate delivery. Vehicle has the lux package, pano roof and 2nd row buckets. VIN is in the high 3's.

7/9: On another Chevy forum, a user who's an inventory manager of +20 years at a Chevy dealer in TX informed me that the vehicle has been event code 3800 since June 23rd. My dealer has been zero help and has not provided the event history.

7/11: Chevy chat confirmed my vehicle is at the MID lot and all other info has to be provided by my dealer.

7/13: Dealer finally got back to me and informed me that there are no updates in VINview or changes to my event code. I asked the Chevy forum user to check another Z71 sold at the same dealership and he informed me that that one has an 4800 event code. It is the same build as mine but the VIN is in the low 3's. That one was "sold" 6 weeks ago. No info on its event history.

I do not have a window sticker, VIN search in the Chevy site shows not available and it is not listed on my dealer's website if you navigate through it. However if you search for the VIN on Google, there is an https link to my dealer's site with my vehicle showing "pending sale".

I am seriously reconsidering other manufacturers as my customer experience has been awful the past 14 months when purchasing two new GM products.

Took possession of this beauty today. Getting the rims and emblems swapped out for the black like the one I ordered. Dealership was amazing in helping throughout this entire process.

GM chat told me mine was in transit to melothian today our build date was 5/14 and I have a vin. Super frustrating
It’s crazy GM chat will never reveal any location for me , even if I speak to an agent and ask for it . They always say they don’t have the info . I’ve tried like 5 times lol

This was the first time. The ‘advisor’ on chat told me it was in transit and I asked her in transit to where? And she said Melothian. I played dumb

Wow that’s great info . Looks like Chevy chat is a little more informative than gmc chat . GMC chat has been increasingly more automated with bots that say the same thing and it’s become more difficult to get connected with an actual person
