I'm thinking and want to lower, but just 1 inch in front and 2 inches in the rear. Is that a waste of time? I don't want a slammed thug life look, but a performance/stock ride. Would drop spindles in front and lowering springs be the best way to go for a smooth ride? Any opinions?

Most people do a 2/3.

Belltech spindles up front give you a 2" drop and rides just like OEM.

3" drop springs in the rear

Then you do the shock extenders and you're good to go.

Thug life or no life.

Back to your question tho. Nathan gave the best answer. 2/3 is a nice suttle drop that goes good with any size wheel.

Here’s my 2008 with a ground force 2/3 drop (2” drop coils in the front and 3” coils in the rear) and djm shock extenders. I also had the adjustable panhard bar but that’s because I had it laying around, it didn’t really need it. 285/45/22 was the tire size. Rode like factory.

Looks great! Looks like you keep it show car clean as well. 285/45/22 is the tire size I would do when I get my 22 inch replicas.

I searched through some old pics and found this of my previous tahoe.
It was lowered 1" in rhe front with belltech adjustable struts and 2" in the rear with Belltech springs. Hope this helps.

heres my current suburban, also a 4wd, lowered 2" in the rear with Belltech springs, not sure if i will lower the front with adjustable struts, or if springs will lower it 1". My other thought is go 2" in the front with drop spindles and go with a 3" lowered spring in the rear.
