Mirror Swap Question: Are Side Mirrors Plug and Play on an 07 Tahoe?

It was a straight-forward and "easy" process...I just thought it was ridiculous that I had to take off the entire door panel in the first place. And then it ticked me off when the door panel clips were such pieces of crap...

2elo and zach, if your not replacing the actual switch... do you still need to remove the door panel?

Don't feel bad on the body clips... I used to do car audio shows as a hobby back in the day and you needed a PHD in body panels to remove a ton of different car companies panels without damage...

Hey fellas,

I may have found a few DL3 mirrors on eBay that I may grab to switch out with mine. I am not interested in the power fold just the puddle lights and turn signals.

Based on all of the info everyone posted, I am assuming it will be plug and play with no need to switch the interior switches and the turns and puddles should work with my current harness right out of the box.

PLEASE CONFIRM THE ABOVE.. if you guys can.

Lastly a few final questions:

1. Alot ofthe mirrors on eBay are either plain black textured, or painted to match the vehicle. I have chrome caps on mine. Can they be taken off of my and placed on the new mirrors?

Even if you just want to replace the mirror itself you still have to remove the door panel. Instead of having common sense and putting the connector plug at or near the mirror itself, GM put the connection at the back of the switch on the door panel...thus requiring that you remove the door panel.

On the OEM mirrors, the cap is interchangeable between painted to match, black textured plastic, and chrome. However, some of the cheap eBay mirrors are reproduction units and they put huge globs of glue on the tabs that make it a major pain in the ash to swap out the covers without completely screwing up the plastic clips. Ask me how I know.

absolutely 100 percent positive the lights and signals will work out of the box! however that second link you just posted of the mirror on ebay doesnt seem to have puddle lamp. i dont think the silverados and sierras have puddle lamps. i know i bought my mirrors off a sierra and it has turn signals and power fold but no puddle lamp!

He's telling me it has the puddle light on the bottom... I put an offer in but I wish he had the matching right side

OK here is the big question.

How many different mirrors did they make for the Tahoe in 07?

1. Power Adjustment, maybe heated? with nothing else. (Which I currently have)

2. Power adjustment, heated, turn signal and puddle

3. is there a third one with power folding or do all the mirrors listed in #2 above have power folding?

What ever happened with your mod(i.e. puddle lamps working, switch for power fold, etc.) and what was the final cost?

"Ebay" says these mirrors will not fit my 08 Tahoe. Is there something different with the mirrors on these trucks?
