Got to Boston last Monday and parked the truck, it sat until Friday, the bucking started again at highway speeds. Still runs strong accelerating at lower speed.Changing the tran fluid now before bringing it in to the dealer. Was going to drop the pan and do the filter as well and was told I need to know the pan depth for the right filter. I suspect that I measure from the mating surface of the flange to the outside of the bottom of the pan?

You just need to know if you have a factory deep pan or not, you can tell by looking. the filters are only a few bucks, get both, pull the old one and compare, return the one you don't use.
