What causes my 99 Tahoe to smoke I changed plugs wires distributor and it's only running on 7 cylinders can anybody help me

I had it in the shop and he said it could be my valves but he want to charge me 1500 dollars to do it and it might not even be the problem

Rough idle? Misfiring? Head gasket maybe? How's your coolant? Is there oil in it?

Idles alright coolant good but the mechanic says it's only running on 7 cylinders and need valve work but I can still drive it

Could be a bad cap, plug wire or injector as others have said

So it defiantly misfiring.

Before having a mechanic do the valves, do a compression test. You can easily do that yourself. You can pick up a kit from almost any auto store. Then you'll know if if you need valves or not.
