Moving to 22 Inch Wheel 285/45/22 or 305/40/22?

I am going up to a 22 inch wheel (20 inch now) on my stock GMC Yukon. I see two different tire sizes people are running with the 22 inch wheels (285/45/22 and 305/40/22). Given a standard suspension height, what is the difference in looks on my Yukon? Is it just a matter of less distance between the top of the wheel and the wheel well?

285/45/22 is the standard size that gm uses on their factory wheels. It's slightly taller than a 305 and just a tad narrower too. It's what I'm running on my lowered Tahoe and I love the looks of this tire size. Enough sidewall for a smooth ride and still be slammed

Sorry I don't have a Yukon, but I think you may get an idea. This is when I had it stock height with 285/45/22 on Nitto 420S. The wheels are TIS07 no longer made...I think.

Like I said 285/45/22 is standard gm size so any vehicle sitting on the car lot or that came factory with 22s is what is will look like for the most part

I went with 285/45s for a little more side wall.

I ran the 305/40s and they look great on my Yukon.

If you are going with stock width 22" wheels go with 285. If you are going with aftermarket 10" wide wheels then 305 would fit the width better
