Really? That sucks. I figured that if the race car guys used them, then they already did the research on them and fund them usefull, so why not do what they do.

Alot of guys here have one and report that it smoothed out idle and made starting faster/easier/better.

IDK... Bigemwagon before he got himself banned, recently installed one and said it kicked his trucks ass, woke it up. AtomicHoe and FF40 have one installed and they could tell the difference HERE.

I'm still goning to get one.

They are great for carbed or maybe TBI vehicles where the fuel isn't precisely metered into each cylinder but with a NA multi-port engine I really think they are useless. My brother put a Mallory box on his carbed S10 and it did smooth it out but it's a completely different animal than what we're dealing with.

I'll lump the MSD in with cold air intakes and stainless brake lines of stuff I've wasted money on. If you were closer I'd remove mine and let you try it out before you bought one and I still stand by that headers, full exhaust, and tune made the biggest differences for me. Maybe my butt dyno has fallen out of calibration? :rotflmao:

Had a 96 Tahoe and installed MSD and blaster coil. Made no real difference at all. Also had MAC cold air intake and MAC MAF sensor installed. Only when I installed cold air and MAF sensor did I feel any gains. 98 year old man pulled a u-turn right in front of me 3 weeks ago....BYE BYE 96...Now have a 97 and starting from scratch. Question about removing factory fan and installing electric dual fan setup...worth the effort? Thx...

I have used MSD 6AL in numerous vehicals with the high output coil. Its always made a differance for me.

You cant argue with multiple discharge sparks.

As for the Duel elec fans, O hell yess it will be very noticable in a 97 with a 5.7
I would also install the ACCEL pickup coil in that distributor. before your OEM goes out and leaves ya stranded. you can change it by simply removing the rotor and 2 screws.
Beshure to clean off the old thermal greese and put fresh stuff in.

that's what i'm wondering..if you complete a fresh tuneup, will this box really add the $200+ benefit? Would it better to invest in a CAI, Headers, Highflow cat instead etc?

I would do headers and a cat back first, then high flow cat and then work on the air inlet side.

Fyre - did you do any other installs at the same time?

For me, i'm skeptical about the capabilities of this things on our rigs...still in info gathering stage :)

No that was the only thing I did at the time.
