With MagnaFlow the larger the muffler the less drone there will be. Chances are those who have a lot of drone are running the 4" x 9" or 5" x 8" - 14" body. Go with the 5" x 11" - 22" body if you're worried about drone.

Flowtech makes several different styles of mufflers.

I went to a local muffler shop and they priced flowmaster 40 and flowsound fpr 30 less. The estimate was 240 for muffler back and slash cut tip 210 fpr flowsound

Flowsound is built just like the Original 40 series.

I had a flowmaster 40 original and it's in my basement now. The drone was too much and it actually felt restrictive, truck felt alot smoother and quicker when I switched to a Magnaflow 12589 its quiet but you know its there. If you want a loud muffler I suggest a small magnaflow muffler like an 18''

Flow Master 50 Big Block

I am running a Flow Master 50 Big Block Muffler nice rumble at idle out side of the SUV but very little in side same at WOT.

And it cost $195.00 for the muffler shop for every thing to cut out the stock one and install the new one this with the cost of the FM.

At HWY cruising speeds there is a slight rumble inside the cab but very little.

As for power I notice no lost by the seat of you're pant. At the bottom end and up on the HYW it revs easier.

Climbing hills or pulling a trailer with the Stock Muffler it use to down shift more and had a harder time staying at HWY speeds now I with the FM 50 Big block muffler it keeps HWY speeds with out down shifting on hills in head winds no where as much it did before.

I been running the FM for over a Year now and I am happy with it.

As for the ones that want every last HP and TQ out the muffler set up this not a race car who cares if you gain or lose 1 to 5 HP or TQ if you do buy a race car.

It a SUV a Heavy full size SUV.

As for people saying FM blow out I have a set dual set up on out 2001 Dodge 2500 Ram with the V 10 it has had them on the truck for over 10 years now and they still work great no blow out and we put at least 70k on those FM.

I also had Magaflows there good mufflers also but I like the sound of FM the better.

I tried a set of the copy cat FM 40's before to loud on my Vett I took them off and went straight pipe it was it has a much nicer sound and less Drone inside the cab with straight pipes no muffler than with the 40's end up after a while putting a Bora Cat back on the Vett and they still on the car 383 LT 1 cam.

See that's what ik more interested in. It not kicking down as much. Yea I still have the camaro and ssei bug but I have a family so that was the reason for the switch. We have a lincoln aviator which will rip the yukon in anyway performance wise. But run premium and 15mpg hwy. It's a hot rod suv. But I'm glad I get to hear everyone thoughts on this. I have a hard time leaving things alone. Lol
