I sold my 98 Yukon almost a year ago, and just bought my father-in-laws 02 2500 burb. We are rebuilding the engine (8.1). Was wondering which muffler to put on it. I would to at least do that to open the exhaust a little but I don't want to be real loud I would rather a nice deep tone. thanks for any input.

For a simple swap using the stock pipes you could throw in a flow master 50 series. Little quieter than thier 40s and similar flow master sound. As a cheapy I used once I would also recommend summitracing turbo muffler. Only cost me like 30 bucks or so and I was extremely impressed with its quality for a cheap turbo muffler. Nice sound and the casing and pipes were extremely thick compared to most other cheap turbo mufflers.

Love my Magnaflow 12259 muffler. Great sound at idle, quite in the cabin while cruising, and has a nice tone when your getting into it. Got mine from @NORCAL SS on here. He is a dealer for them.

As long as you run stock cats it never gonna be super loud, they block so much sound. I recommend a ****** aerochamber, they flow well, and have a nice deep tone, and very mellow when cruising.
