Brake upgrade. Wilwood 16" big brake kit with 6 piston calipers. I also got the parts for the hydro boost conversion. Installing the brakes is pretty straight forward. They tell you to put Loctite 271 on the bolts, which would have been nice to include in the kit, since it's something needed. No big deal, I got a bottle at the auto parts store. You will need a torque wrench and 40 Torx bit. Everything else is just regular wrenches and sockets

Only parts missing right now are the brake lines and the brake fluid, then I can finish the brakes up.
Thats beautiful i dont think i want to see the price tag for all that.Probably half the cost of the vehicle.

It's pricey, for sure. But good brakes are a safety item that can safe your life. Besides, the truck is paid for. I can get a new truck, make payments etc or put some money in this one and build it the way I like it . Plus, I like the look of that body style better than the newer ones.

I know, but wasn't thinking about that at the time. I might replace the seat with a sport seat in the future. Something more side support and less weight

I used get tunnel vision too sometimes, focused on just the task I wanted to complete and not thinking. Then afterwards I looked back and go “ I could have made that a lot easier on myself”. I’m getting better at thinking things through the older I get and the worse my back is. Just looking at that pic made my back hurt. :mad:

Relocated the oil pressure sensor from the back of the engine to the side of the oil pan where the oil filter is. That way I don't have to remove the intake manifold if I have to change the sensor again. The 2 foot harness extension makes it a simple plug in deal

I also installed an oil catch can while I had the intake off

It separates the oil from the air and then reroutes the air back into the intake. At the bottom of the catch can is a drain



After I had done the electric fan conversion I noticed the voltage being a little lower than I was comfortable with at idle. So I ordered a 250 amp alternator and installed that one and now it shows 14+ Volts at idle with the fans running
