1) Nordstrom's auto. google it. you have to call them. 150 shipped.

2) A fellow TYF member posted a thread saying he was removing his roof rack and I PM'd him to buy and he shipped it to me for 175 which is a great deal. They go for 250-350 easily. Some will ask for more and they'll get it (they retail for way more then that new.)

3) I too thought I 'just needed the chrome and black piece'. Not that easy. You need the escalade/denali hitch cover, rear bumper cover, step pad, and chrome trim (seperate part with whole different part number-- snaps in with tabs onto the step pad) -- TOTALLY different then your original yukon/tahoe step pad that is one piece. This is a difference TWO piece step pad.
Pics to show the difference between original bumper and new bumper with new step pad/chrome trim: http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n31/felixgun/Bumper/

4) My running boards had the chrome trim you could purchase on eBay and in pictures they looked clean, and in real life, they looked OKAY at best. I also had this ebay chrome trim on the rear bumper cover when I had my 'old' nnbs original Tahoe LTZ 08 (versus the Tahoe LTZ 09+ bumper that I now have). Both started peeling and eventually I ripped it off because it looked cheap. The chrome trim on the bumper that is OEM/factory is SO FRESH compared to the ebay chrome trim I used to have. So to answer your question I did not swap them out. The nnbs denali and escalade with the manual (non-auto) side steps has a factory chrome strip that lays flush with the surround black plastic. It is impossible to put it on the factory Tahoe steps and can only be put on with 3M tape. To get the real chrome strip you have to replace the whole running board that already comes with the chrome trim on it which is actually one piece. (Two total-- one for each side, and that's all you have to get). I will eventually get these running boards but they are pricey and run about 350-500 used/on the internet.

P.S. - Thanks man appreciate it! It's a melting pot of idea's from this forum.

Thanks :rocking:

Yeah no I didn't meat a 'tape on' chrome stip ...
I meant if someone manufactured the plastic step with a recess on the face of it, and put a chrome strip in said recess so that it would lay flush. :)

Wait now I'm confusered ... on the oem Esky/Nali bumper is the chrome strip on the step pad or on the bumper?

Cause if on the step pad why not buy just that instead of the whole bumper cover assembly?

the step pad is shorter on the escalade than it is on the burban/tahoe. Why? hell if i know. We tried to put the Esky pad with the chrome strip on our Stock burban bumper and it stuck out about 1/2" past the bumper, looked retarded. I am sure one could cut the mounting tabs off and recess it back to sit flush, and then use adhesive to keep the bumper pad mounted down to the bumper... but, it's just not the right way to do things. ;)

Interesting ... I wonder why GM did this?
Do you think it's because they're trying to shorten the burb's overall length and it might actually fit on the Tahoe?
S, do you know if it's the same with the Denali step pad?

yes, the step pads on the Denali and Esky are the same. Tahoe and Suburban are different. The only difference in the tahoe bumper and burban bumper is the length, other than that, the pads are the same.

Escalade and Denali use the same bumpers and pads, chrome strips, etc.

I did notice, however, that at the Autoshow we went to, we sat in a new Suburban LTZ and it had the Escalade bumper, pad, and chrome strip on it. So I am assuming that the newer LTZs have the Escalade parts.

the chrome trim is seperate from both. Look in this album:
http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n31/felixgun/Bumper/

You will see how the chrome trim is a whole seperate piece that snaps in with tabs into the black step pad. The rear bumper cover is one piece together so all together it's three pieces... four with the SICK hitch cover :Handshake:

The step pad/chrome trim/hitch cover on denali/esky is the same as on the yukon XL denali and esky ESV. The rear bumper cover is the only part that is a different part... it's longer.. that's it. Step pad's are the same.
