Sorry about your truck getting stolen. Atleast you did get it back though. Looking around your truck what damage did they make? I am in a way curious how they were able to steal it. I started wiring up my aftermarket alarm today and looking over different ways to wire in a bypass module, there are 3 ways listed, one using a RF transmitter and 2 that basically bypassed the RFID and passlock functions (which could be what they could have done.) Cutting the onstar wire or even removing the sharkfin on the roof can render Onstar useless, and even the amateur thief can easily break off the antenna to buy them some time. I kind of want to know what wires, if any, they tampered with to steal your truck, or was there a possibility they towed it?
Yeah don't take those pics. There is no point because it will help spread knowledge on how those crimes are committed. Most should not really care how to disable Onstar, or finding those ignition harness wires unless they plan on using it for illegal purposes. There wasnt too much damage on the truck there is a nice looking dent on my driver door where they broke the window looks like the used a crowbar or something to break it. the antenna wasnt damaged but i honestly didnt really pay attention to the roof..Also what ever they took underneath the radio. ive never seen the box or module for OnStar... I can take a pic of the wires undernearth the steering column if it helps you out. My only concern is that it may help others learn how to steal our trucks not calling you a theft of course but the scum bags that lerk these forums to get ideas
