Something like making a dam, but I never did it myself. Hopefully someone who knows the exact method will chime in. Sensors don't come with the harness, but sometimes, not always, they need or should be replaced. My guy reused mmine, so I guess it was still ok.

I just went ahead and ordered the harness thanks again, I'm not taking any chances with the old one... I don't wanna rip the entire manifold out again for a harness

The way I've seen it was a bead of the stuff around the hole, shaped like a horseshoe, open towards the cab. And on the rear one, lay an extra bead at an angle out of the back of the compartment.

Thanks brother, just ordered that as well. If all these new parts I'm throwing at it now don't resolve this rough idle issue I may start looking for a new beater. I guess you get what you pay for

Did some thread digging as I had seen the RTV addition mentioned before.

I'm sure there are other threads or parts thereof mentioning this and you seem to have a handle on what is going on obviously Hope these help a bit for research.

Ok just read through all those threads, good information! it seems my theory to replace the entire intake manifold may have been a bit overkill, I should of just started with replacing the knock sensors and went from there.

At this point everything else I replaced is brand new (all ac delco) screw it, the IM has already shipped...looks like all I need to get now is a fuel line disconnect tool...thanks again @Fosscore
