I took a few baby steps today toward removing the 6.0 from the Escalade...I only removed a few of the easy parts since I'm not really sure what should and shouldn't be removed when the engine gets pulled

It looks like I'm going to have to tackle this job alone or with a few more knowledgeable friends who actually know what they're doing...every mechanic I've talked to so far has quoted me over $3k to remove the 5.3 and an additional $3k to swap out the 6.0 :eek:...gotta love NY, the city that keeps bending you over any chance it gets!

Galante is right. Disconnecting the harnesses is a big chunk of the work.

For me probably the most challenging part was the bell housing bolts. I found a really long extension ( like 3 feet or so) and go in from the tail end of the transmission towards the front to get at the bell housing bolts
