Me: Why do you list "Aside from the best prices, we carry all of our HID Kits on hand, instead of reselling like some vendors." the past 3 kits I have ordered you have sent from CHINA? Takes at least 2-3 weeks if I am lucky before they arrive.

DDM Tuning :

Kevin: We do keep all of our HID kits on hand. We're not drop shipping the kits from someone. If you order online we ship the kits from our warehouse in China within 2 business days. Typically ...delivery time is 5-7 business days from the time the order is packed.

Me: Sorry, I am not buying the warehouse in China. Why don't you disclose this on your web site? Why is there no listing for a location in China? Obviously you must have customers there as well. Its easy to say it is coming from your warehouse when it is drop shipping from the manufactures warehouse. If they are on hand why don't you ship from your location in the states and restock inventory?

I've been to their store here in SD. I think I know why they ship some from China, because they can't keep all of them onsite. My assumption is that if you order for pick up or expedited shipping, then it ships from one of their US stores, if you order standard shipping then it's coming from China.

Just a guess though.

I just noticed they started shipping from out of the country, the first i'd say 5 kits came from cali. The ones i've gotten from out of the country only took a week. They used to have a phone number you could call, is it not on the site anymore?

I will say that they're not super professional. I ordered from there and said I wanted to pick it up. They close at 5. I got there at 4:40 and they'd already locked up. I understand people want to go home, but damn, it was like they held my property hostage.
I'm kinda big on customer service.

I am not defending DDM's customer service, but I do understand to an extent why they are shipping from China.

They used to ship from California. They started to get so big and have so many orders, that they were receiving cargo containers from China to ports in CA. Customs was taking forever to clear those containers, which caused massive delays in order filling for DDM and a constant effort to catch-up on orders once containers were cleared. This circumvents the entire Customs issue by shipping from China directly to customers. Yes, it takes a little longer in transit, but in reality they are ahead of where they were on overall order turn-around. (No, I don't work for or sell DDM products, I've just been a long-time customer and have seen them go from small business to pretty huge, international supplier in a short period of time)

All of that said, it shouldn't take 2-3 weeks and you have a valid concern. It is their job to satisfy the customers, and they have always been kind of hit and miss in the customer service area.

Good luck!
