Another late day at work. Not much accomplished. I did install the knock sensor harness and applied the required sealant on the grommets for the knock sensors. Cleaned up and organized my tools for the final push. My plan is for first start on Saturday. I'm off on Friday so it should be doable.

Great idea how you're pacing yourself instead of trying to rush everything.

I got home a little earlier this evening and was able to install the intake manifold, changed the throttle body gasket and prepped the fuel rail. Two issues as I was installing. 1. The tape i used to protect the intake opening did not come off easily. 2. What a PITA torquing the back 4 bolts (two waves 44 inch/pounds and the 89 inch/pounds.

Today was very productive. Should still make my first start tomorrow. Although still several things to complete including a thorough QA (quality assurance) prior to start:

  • Installed passenger side coil packs
  • Connected four fuel injector harnesses
  • Connected heater hose support bracket
  • Installed alternator support bracket
  • Connected lower wire bracket on power steering pump do this prior to installing pump)
  • Installed power steering pump
  • Installed driver side coil packs
  • Connected four fuel injector harnesses
  • Connected water temperature sensor harness driver side
  • Connected 2 ground wires to driver side lower block
  • Repaired wire harness protector driver side wheel well
  • Installed red box power junction support bracket
  • Installed water pump
  • Installed main belt tensioner assembly
  • Installed power steering pulley
  • Installed alternator
  • Repositioned main engine harness on top of throttle body
  • Reconnected various harnesses
  • Installed 8mm and 10mm bolts to bracket that held accelerator and cruise control cables
  • Installed heater hoses to water pump
  • Installed lower radiator hose
  • Installed throttle body
  • Connected harnesses to throttle body
  • Connected main vacuum line
  • Installed air cleaner
  • Installed main serpentine belt
  • Connected throttle body linkages
  • Installed catch can
