As we were returning from the park this morning, my Grandson told me he fixed it...
I was thinking 'OK'...
When I got home I discovered his 'fix'. What ya gonna do????
Will the cup holder just pull out? I didn't want to 'fix' it anymore, I'd rather 'fix' it this time...
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

it will pop apart, obviously it has to...but it will also probably break some tabs.

you could try to fish the rubber back in with out the hold on tabs...but i have done this in the past and never tried to fix it and was fine.

If it is like what I recently did on my 05 Tahoe, I got new fingers and they were all individual pieces and did not have the daisy chain set up like this. The finger part that is exposed when it is back in place is just held in by the little tabs on each side that are wider than the slot it slips in. I just used a small plastic pry tool, to keep from tearing it up with something like a metal screwdriver, and widened the slot a little and then wiggled the tabs in the slot and then when installed all the way, they spread out and hold the finger in place. If you pop that out of there, I hope, unlike mine, that there are screws to take out and let you lay the old part back in there and screw it back together. Mine did not allow that. It had plastic welds on the backside and would have broken if I tried to pull apart.

I have pulled the one apart in my Silverado and replaced the cover and reassembled it. The top will unsnap from the cupholder portion, just pry it with a plastic trim tool. Be careful but you have to work it pretty hard.
