me and my buddies (Kostly Koncepts c.c.) had to do a little something before Scrapin' The Coast 09' this weekend (biggest car show in the south just about) from the pictures you can prob see where this is going on my truck and doing a few things to my boys trucks.. shaved1.jpg

So you're shaving your ass...hehe. I just found about scrapin' the coast and wanna go some year, but won't make it this year.

im no welder and dont know much about it at all... so this may seem like a dumb questions, BUT....

i thought the lift gates on these trucks were aluminum... does that require a different kind of welding?

Looks like a MIG welder to me.

im no welder and dont know much about it at all... so this may seem like a dumb questions, BUT....

idno if the gates are aluminum it seems pretty solid whatever it is, but i dont weld either, thats why my friends dad is doing the welding lol, but the welds work fine we didnt run into any problems

Pretty sure that only the newer hybrids have Aluminum hoods and rear gates. Ours are stamped steel.


Well, I stand corrected. I just went and put a magnet on the lift gate and no pull so I guess they are Aluminum. Learn something every day.

However, you only have to swich the gas and the wire on a mig to weld aluminum.
