It has something to do with the chemicals afterwards it's just expensive to deal with so company's just stopped doing it.

Sorry guys it's not technically illegal.

It's more like very very difficult/ makes no sense.

It's the EPA that regulates every waste drop that comes from this process. The costs and qc procedures are very high. You might could find a shop that does it but they probably have been doing it for 30+ years and you will pay top dollar.
