Okay so I received my G4 ANZO tails today, I installed them and they work perfectly.

Now to be honest they look identical to the Eagle Eyes (front and back), so they may indeed have been made at the same factory ... that said, and with the caveat that my mind is trying to justify the extra cost when I simply got lucky, they do seem brighter and a better fit.

I honestly have no idea if it was the luck of the draw or if Anzo itself has anything to do with quality control ... I'm just happy they work correctly.

Next heavy rain and a few trips through the car wash will test their seal.

Could someone check something for me on their G4s please?
Cause I think my mind is playing tricks on me.

When you look straight at them you have three rows of leds.
Then there is a row of leds on the side that also lights up with the lights on.

My memory is that the side row was mock leds that didn't light up on the Eagle Eyes G4s ... but on the ANZO they do.

Am I just remembering incorrectly?

Just wanted to vouch for Revotec as well. I bought some G4’s for him over a year ago and just had issues with one. Everything but the brake light would work, and I swore I needed a new light. He helped me troubleshoot all the way down to the point where I found that it was the other LED’s I had that were shorting out the brake light. I eventually found the 3rd brake light strip was causing the issue, and ordered up another. So, even though my lights were probably out of warranty, Revotec was still very helpful in dealing with my issue.

I bought a set of G4s used from craigslist, so I was aware of the risk that I might get a set that had issues, but it was a really good deal so I took the chance.

I've had a few issues with the driver side light and hyper flash that I've been working through, and it might help others with theirs.

I double sided taped the resistor to the back of the light, but it didn't stick well and fell off. When it did, the weight of it actually pulled one of the wires out of the socket inside the light and I had 2 regualr flashes and then 100% hyper blinking. I swapped resistors back and forth before finally finding the problem. I epoxied the wire back into the socket, and it seemed to work fine. Now I have an intermittent hyper flash, some times it will blink regularly for 5 times or so and then start hyper flashing.

I took the light out again, and went back to the socket that gave me issues before. The harness wasn't clicking into the socket well, and the terminals were't making good contact. So I used a little screw driver to make the terminals tighter for the socket, and made sure that they were seated all the way. It got better, but it still happens from time to time.

My next fix will be to take the socket and harness terminal out of the eqation completely, and hardwire it all together. I'll report back once that happens.

Be sure to check out all your other lights. Basically, Revotec told me that the other LED's may be pulling too much current, and because the tails are regulated with the resistor pack, they are the first ones to fail because of low voltage. He said the solution was to put resistors on the other LED's as well to help regulate them. So possibly check your esky 3rd brake light and make sure all the LED's are lit up. If some are out, it might be pulling too much current. If that's not it, just pull fuses for the other LED's/HID's and see if you can get it to work. My wife was thrilled to sit in the truck and help me with the troubleshooting!! Or not.

So what is the final lesson in all this? G5s?

.....or get the Anzo G4 like Serge did?

How long did you have the Anzo 311140 Serge?

And any problems with the Anzo ones over EE?

From my CB Radio.

Thanks Lee! Wanted to go with the G4s to save alittle bit of money cuz they are cheaper and i dont have to buy the rear appliques but i guess the saying you pay for what you get for is true in this case.. Everyone is getting the appliques from robbie correct? what tail lights do you have did you end up going with
