My review on EBC Greenstuff 7000 pads

Test unit: 1997 GMC suburban with 35" tires 17" wheels, power slot rotors, Braided SS lines, new master, great pedal pressure

I've got to say I'm not impressed. They are overpriced with poor braking. Cold braking SUCKS. Once they get hot they seem alright, but again cold is no good which has it's obvious problems. I have about 300 miles on them and I have a set of Hawk LTS that I'll put putting on tomorrow.

I may throw these on the tahoe to see what happens. I will update this after the pad swap(s)

I threw a set of slotted rotors on mine with some hawk pads. I noticed better cold braking but it's even more noticeable when they heat up. I also think my ABS unit needs to be replaced. Initial brake is spongy but subsequent braking seems firm. Good thing I didn't waste my money on those EBC pads.

Yeah, I'm so unhappy with the EBC and for $40 more than the Hawks. I'll put the Hawks on the truck Sunday afternoon and I'm betting I see a big difference. I've been running Hawks on both trucks for years now and thought I'd try something new....bad idea

i have green stuff on my silverado SS. when they get hot they make noise like ****** crazy. i also have EBC slotted roters also. they stop alright definitely better than stock. my camaro has red stuff with drilled and slotted rotors idk if its the cause i have 19s in the rear and 18s up front but this thing cant stop for shit

I have to add to this, although I have never run the Hawks, I have run Posi Quiet Ceramics on the Yukon and Duramax with drilled and slotted rotors and honestly, cold, warm, whatever, they have always provided strong breaking.

I will also say this, for everyone installing rotors and pads, to give them the best chance, don't skip what a lot of people skip during installation. Clean your rotors EXTEMELY well. Even if they look clean, clean them anyway. They all come with some kind of coating of some corrosion inhibitor for storage and packing, if you don't get all of it off then even after a fresh install you may not have the braking you should have.

Also, how many of you are putting brake quiet grease on the pads during installation? I have never heard a peep out of the brake on the Yukon OR the Dmax, and I know I have posted it before, but if you check the picture below, you can tell I USE THE CRAP out of my brakes.

Also, please don't think I am saying you didn't install them right or anything, I just threw that out there for the masses.
