My transmission nightmare.

My '98 2 door has 225K on the clock. After towing for a while I get a real hard shift going from 1st to 2nd. When the time comes I'm going with these guys. Check out their site. Worth 15 or 20 minutes of reading.

It should not happen after a certain time of towing but most hard shift firmness in 1-2 is often a result of a screwy throttle position sensor.

While looking at pics I am beginning to think this unit may not be original after all. I have no explanation why a pm check of may 5 2008 is written in a spot inaccessible when installed. And I looked at the numbers on the sunshell and the patent number is actually the sunshell know as the beast. More to come I am sure.

To all in CA there is a great transmission shop in Seaside the name is Quality Transmission. I had the trans in my 07 2500 Dodge rebuilt by them and my dad also had his trans rebuilt by them also and he couldn't be more happy with it. The rebuilt trans comes with a 3yr unlimited mile warranty.

What did u do to ur 07 so that you needed a transmission repair? Tried to be a drift king? Try to tow big rigs or tow off witha train?

Dodge has a history of trans issues...

Actually the shift kits fix the issue with it happening when hot. Think it was a valve body plate or valve sleeve issue.

The main reason is I drive the truck hard, it's had a tune on it since new, and I tow heavy equipment. It lasted 65k so I got a lot of use out of it and I'm glad I finally have a built trans in it.
