The funny part was that it wasn’t the tow company’s rules…. Just AAA. I couldn’t cancel the tow and when the driver showed up I started apologizing for wasting his time since I wasn’t gonna let my truck leave without me, and he’s like “oh that’s a load of nonsense and not our rule….. we’re not enforcing it because we know how stupid it is, especially given that big bear has no ride shares or even a taxi service.” And he also didn’t care if I had a mask or not…. Which I didn’t…. Lol.That is not the first time I have heard about not being allowed to ride in the tow truck. Will not let you ride in the towed vehicle either. Most driver's were just following what their dispatcher said to do. It was bull snot of course, especially if you agreed to wear a mask. You know, THE MASK, that was safe and then unsafe and then safe and then unsafe again.
Edit: driving home from Utah a couple of weeks ago, at the baker off ramp on I-15 in caifornia, there was a family getting towed and I couldn’t figure out why a police offer was escorting the tow truck….. I realized it was because it was a big family in a minivan getting towed, and the driver showed up with a single cab flatbed…. Oops lol. Family was all still in the minivan up on the flatbed heading for the off-ramp….
