I haven't posted in this section before because ive never had a 4x4, but that is about to change... a week and a half ago I got hit from behind and it shoved me into the truck in front of me, so the insurance is sending me a check for about $2600, and after a bit of debate im going to get a four wheel drive Tahoe!!

So because I haven't had any experience with four wheel drive Tahoes I come to you guys with some questions...

The Tahoe im looking at is a 1995, is that a good year for four wheel drives? I like it because it has the shifter on the floor, im not much of a push button guy...

What do I need to be on the lookout for as far as the four wheel drive is concerned??

How do I test it to make sure the four wheel drive works?

are there any tips, tricks, or other helpful advice on this??

Thanks in advance fellas for any and all help you can provide!!

95 doesn't have the vortech heads, less gas mileage. Also that's an OBD1 inspection which to me is a bit harder to pass inspection due to strict emissions. As for the 4wd test. put it in 4hi and drive around the parking lot. If its working, you will feel it. Same with 4low as it will go slower. I have push button on my 99 so that's all the info I have.
