ive messed with both and after talking to dj and jessa i'd rather go with the aluminum coil subs. the copper sounds fine but eventually im gonna go up in power. not to mention the aluminum subs are hand built at DD in Oklahoma city and the copper subs are made in china. they do a little extra to the aluminum coil subs

if the 15's probably 9-12cubes. tuned around 36hz with a slot port.
dj i think said the ideal box for the 15 is 4-4,5^3 turned to 38hz... i'll call him time today and ask personally

You want SQ/low-end or spl? I'd do 2 AA Havoc 18''s personally on a true 3krms amp. Should still be enough for a solid 150 but will be quite amazing on music and low notes.

i want sql...
i want it to sound good at moderate levels but i want it to be a loud daily driver too...
Dj told me the audioques would achieve that but i just came across an omega 12 and i was like.. hell for $415 i'll do 2 15s omega's. they look like they're tougher than the audioque subs and from what ive seen they can take anything you toss at them. seen ppl running 3000rms to the 12s....
if i do go the omega route i'll grab another 3500.1, mine got here today... paid $410 for it.
just dont know if im ready for a 7000rms system... i had a 3000rms system in my maxima but damn 7000..plus almost 1200rms for the speakers to keep up... maybe i should stop being a gearslut and just stick to the audioque 15s or 1 omega 18...
im lusting to much LOL

I am going to stand by the fact that there is no replacement for displacement.

You should really be doing a pair of 18s man. You have the space and the power. It is close to twice the cone area of 2 15s.

SQL....... Personally I would hit up David Moore at Team PSI. He built my RE SE 15, My RE *** 18, My friends RE HC 15s, and will soon build my 15'' TC9.

He has his own motors out now which would be exactly what you're looking for. He builds subs for your exact application. It would be around $700 for a pair of 18s capable of 1600-1700 a piece.

i hit him up on the caco forum yesterday actually.
i know i have the space for the 18s but i have a 9 month old little boy too... he was a preemie(only 1 pound) he just started cralling yesterday so soon i wont have to worry about having a stroller but until then i cant really do 18s b/c ima need at least 12-14 cubes, plus amps and batteries.. i wont have the space for the stroller...

of course i wouldnt have the subs on when he's in the truck, but when on my own or going to work etc, ima take full advantage of whatever system i get.

atleast with the 2 15s in the hoe i can go around 9cubes, have my speaker amps under the seat with a battery or 2 then in the back have my 3500.1 flush where the factory sub was and still have space for the stroller and whatever when me and my fiance go out...
trust me i want the 18s... just dont think i can fit anything else in the back of the truck with 2 18s...

wish i was good with fiberglass. id do 3 sets of 6.5's and a 8inch sub in the front doors and 2 more pair of 6.5's in the rear doors... See there i go lusting again. im a father, i cant be blowing money on a stereo system when i can be spoiling my first born..

kevin, what do you have again? maybe we can link so i can hear your system. i just moved in with my girl, we're in duluth off summit ridge/peachtree industrial

For the right price I would sell you my *** 18 lol. It is fresh, only has a weekend of play time on it but your amp would kill it.

I mainly just mess around with different stuff. I go to school in statesboro so the commute every three to four weeks back to Alpharetta would be hell if I had my ***, box, amp, and extra batt in. That is like 250 lbs in the worst place for my car.

I run a 12'' kicker cvr in 4 cubes tuned to 32hz for my daily sub lol. I just run it of two channels of my 4125 bridged.

But yeah, the *** is unlike anything I have ever heard before. It is in 4.5 cubes sealed and I love it. Very little distortion but still the loudest thing I have ever heard.

We can meet up in like a month so you can check out the *** if you want. I am slowly out growing the bass bug but I am for sure still an audiophile. I am going to try and meet up with Narco this weekend so I can start designing his box.
