Bro, where do you live? Are there no good private shops around? So your status is currently with some unknown dealer at $16K down from $22K? Thats closer. I would park it at your house and shop from there.
The price of a new GM 6.2 engine is not going to change. 10K for crate, 7K for long block WITH DOD, which I hate (I would NEVER put that back in my vehicle). If you want to stay stock with DOD then you need to find a shop who can R&R the engine.
It's not that much work (about 18-24 labor hours depending on mech), but you also have several hundred in plugs, oil, and coolant. If long block then you would also need injectors, rails and piping because those injectors never come out easy, they always break and need to at least be rebuilt, easier to buy new, which is the case with the whole engine, easier to buy new. And the whole engine is warrantied. All assuming your current engine is broken beyond repair. You never said what was wrong with it. Buenos Suerte!
