Have a 2003 Yukon SLT 4WD. Tonight the brake pedal went to the floor. Fortunately made it home safely. When I looked under the vehicle I found a line (or lines) leaking that go into a module of some sort that is on the underside of the floor just in front of the rear axle on the drivers side. I don't know what this is. I am also not positive yet if the module itself is leaking or a line into it.

I have searched the web for diagrams of brake lines for this year Yukon/Tahoe and can't find anything. I have checked a bunch of makers of brake lines hoping to find it with no success. I went through over 20 pages of searches here for different brake line issues...also no success. Can anyone identify this piece for me?

I attached a couple of pics of it from the back (I crawled under the back side and took the pics from over the axle). You can see the wetness from the brake fluid. There is an electrical connection to it in the front as well as the brake lines. I thought maybe it is part of the abs system but all the pics I find online for that are of a manifold looking piece that I believe is at the front of the vehicle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my dd.

ETA: This is right behind the fuel tank. The piece you see in the lower right hand corner of the Brake3 pic is the shroud around the gas tank.

well an update....in the daylight I was able to identify that the leak is not coming from the piece I took pictures of but instead was coming from the line along the frame. I pulled the wheel well liner and moved the wire harness out of the clips and there it is. Pinhole that sprays directly in toward the piece that I took the picture of.

As this is a dd I need to do a quick fix before I can replace the whole line so will cut out a section with the hole and replace it with hose and 4 clamps for an initial fix. Much more worried now about bleeding the system appropriately right now given the ABS.

I am still curious what that part is so if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Sorry i can`t identify the item in your picture but about your brake line. If you`re just going to use a temporary fix until you replace the whole line use a compression fitting like this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all48034?seid=srese1&gclid=CNaF99OAlr4CFUcV7AodiXMA4w I`m not sure what size lines you have, the link is just for a visual.

I`m not a fan of using them but i know people that used them and they have held up for many years. I seriously doubt a rubber hose and some clamps would work.

Umm... You can't use clamps, and a piece of hose on a break system. It will either blow the hose apart, or just leak at the clamps. A typical automotive brake system ranges in pressures of 800-2000 Lbs. If you're not going to replace the whole line then cut the bad section out, and flair new ends on it, and splice in a replacement section using proper fittings. Once you have time to actually do the replacement the fittings could be cut off and reused though.

Okay thanks! Appreciate the comments. the cut out section is less than an inch in length. And yes I will be replacing the whole line.
