Seems like there is a lot of guys on here that know about guns so. . . .

What does everyone think about a Ruger P345 or P90?

Sorry to thread jack.

Not bad guns. Rugers are cheaper, so that's a big appeal for some people. I have a P89 (9mm, instead of the .45ACP). It's not a bad gun. The problem I have with Ruger handguns is that they are a little more bulky. Not that I have a CCW, but bulky guns should only be bulky to help manage recoil in higher calibers, not to make the gun more inexpensive. I've also fired the P345, and while it was not a bad gun, it also wasn't anything special.

The thing about guns is that they are very user specific. I like my Springfield XD, but I don't like Glocks all that much. Very similar guns (with some differences), but I have a preference.

The main thing with Rugers is that you generally have to keep them very clean, because buildup (especially on the feed ramps) tends to lead to jamming.

good deal. I think I like the bulkiness cause the grip seems to fit my hand better. I have been told as you said that gun are specific to the owners hands as far as the grip. so those too seems to fit in my hand the best. now TRUE I have not handled any other. so maybe I need to do some more feeling around. haha.

There are a few newer guns that come with interchangeable grips now. The S&W M&P series and the new Springfield XDm series are the two that come to mind. The Springfield XDm also have large clips. You can buy that gun in AZ. I can't in CA.

Why can you not buy them in Ca? Can you have one in Ca just not purchase them.

The XDm is not available for purchase in CA. it either has something to do with the magazine size (CA is limited to 10- no matter what caliber), or with the safety. But from what I remember, they didn't change the safety system from the XD to the XDm.

As to your second question, you can have ANY gun in CA, but it doesn't mean that it's legal. Basically, if you can't purchase it here, it is illegal to possess here- even if you are from another state that allows you to own virtually any type of firearm.
