My 2006 z71 has 141k were on vacation and currently at rosewell Nm. the Tahoe started to "buck" kinda like if its running out of gas but very fast takes less then a second for it to do it and stop. at first it was only on bigger bumps but it started doing it all the time. Most of the time it does this at cruising speed once it did it at about ten mph and it sounded like a really solid and hard hit. Hard enough to shake the hole truck. I stopped and checked it out. With the truck in park I opened the hood and pushed the truck back to see if there was movement in the motor mounts or the u joints giving out acted fine until I pulled it forward and it just started rolling as if it was in Neutral. I let it rolled a few feet then stopped it looked around and seen nothing else wrong decided to drive it more and it acted ok until the last ten miles of the 60 mile drive. It started bucking even harder and started falling out of gear. The gear selector still said drive but it just reved I put it in 4x4 high and slammed in and started back in gear. So I'm at a hotel for the night and I have 12 more hours to go. What do guys think? Tranny fluid smells burned. And I have no tools with me and the wife and three kids
