Need help indentifying this part on a 2004 Tahoe

Anyone know the name of this part? It looks like its worn out. I just purchased the truck and I'm hearing a clunking sound on the front end. Where can I order it and what tools are needed? Thanks in advance.

Most definitely a bump stop. Unfortunately for you that its not the thing making the clunking sound. Daystar makes replacements, but I would look elsewhere in your front end for wear on the ball joints, tierod ends, brakes, shocks and i can go on. The bumbstop does not move or do anything except keep your control arms from damaging the shocks.
