Yeah, it sounds like the rear end broke. Probably the ring gear. Mine broke, I launched it hard from a standstill. I was able to limp home it is a4x4 but, it drew a lot of attention with all that clanking from the broken gear. Get one from the junkyard and replace it. I was lucky and found a direct replacement with the same 373 gears in it.

lol dude when i was drivin it to my moms everybody was starin hard, cant blame em though that shit was really loud. well im startin to feel better i was hopin it wasnt the transfer case big$$$$. im gonna tear into it this weekend hopin for the best
