This is probably a stupid question, and I know I'm going to catch a lot of crap for this, but what would be affected if I ran a 22" front wheel and 24" rear wheel on a 2wd? This is mostly for aesthetic reasons. I've not seen it done on many modern cars, other than concepts, and I just like being different. It would be kind of like older hot rods that have larger wheels and tires in the rear. I was initally thinking about doing a much taller tire in the rear, but have about decided to stick with nearly the same diameter as the front wheels. Here's the setup I was thinking: 285/45 22 front on 22x9 wheels and 305/35 24 rear on 24x10 wheels. The width differences will also give a staggered affect. The rears will be slightly over 1/4 inch taller than the fronts. I'm not worried about the speedo because I can adjust it with a reprogrammer. I was just wandering if this would have any negative effect on my transmission or anything else. I realize I won't be able to rotate my tires, but that's not a big worry for me.
Do people not do this because it will screw things up?
Do you think this would look stupid since the front tires will have a taller sidewall than the rear tires, even though the rear wheels themselves will be taller?
If you have any pics of a similar setup on any vehicle, let me see.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

U may get an abs code due to different tire heights. U can program wheel height but i dont think you can program 2 different wheel sizes. If so you are good. Im running 295-35-24 and there is a noticeable height difference from my 285 50 20s. You are going to have rake upon rake with a 1 in tire height difference.

What @bottomline2000 said! You WILL get a "mismatch wheel speed" code and everywhere you go approx a mile or two down the road your ABS and BRAKE likghts will illuminate and you will also get that beautiful constant alarm/chiming noise for a good 30-60seconds with a warning message in your DIC saying "service brake system"

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I may just abandon the idea of running different size wheels. I figured there was a good reason I don't see many vehicles running it. If I caould find an exact same tire size, it still may not look right because the front tire will have a taller sidewall. I like the larger 24 wheels, but don't want to run them because I'm afraid the smallr sidewall will yield a harsher ride. I guess I'll go with 22s all around. That way I'll have a smoother ride. I plan on doing a 3/4 drop with new shocks. Nothing too extreme, because my wife will primarily be driving it. She wants something that rides smooth and as close to stock. I want something that looks good, but don't want to sacrifice the ride quality too much. Got a lot of bumpy roads in Tennessee.
Thanks again for everyone's help!
