Welcome to TYF!

This is a section for the 2000-2006 NBS trucks, so you may want to start a thread in the appropriate year section for your truck. You may get better answers there.
Thanks. No, I am looking for technical operational info on the 5.3 engine. I was hoping someone here was mechanically savvy, but it looks liike lift kits and add ons is the general interest here. I'll try to find a place with mechanics who understand the insides. Thanks again.

Dude you posted in a thread that for one, was the wrong year and secondly was a thread started by a guy looking for a wiring harness for his factory radio. I fail to see how you have anything to say for yourself except “ excuse me I have no clue what I’m doing here”. There’s plenty of guys here who can run circles around most “ mechanics” but you’re not going to get much help the way you’re going about it.

How about you go to the correct section of the forum, and then start a brand new thread that’s all yours and we will see if we can help.

I would suggest going to a salvage yard, and just cutting off a pig tail with all the wiring. Then you can Solder/Heat Shrink it back together for a factory radio wiring harness.

At the end of the day, its much safer.
This is what I’ll be doing thank you I don’t know why I didn’t think of this

Are you purposely trying to offend people? These are the most knowledgeable people on this platform I know, with few exceptions. And I'm in a dozen groups for the GMT800 platform. These are also the NICEST people I know; there are some forums where you would not only get ZERO help, but you would get openly mocked and/or attacked.

I ask you because my underlying assumption is you are just frustrated and didn't mean to take it out on us.

Why don't you try another forum.

We'd be glad to see you go, as clearly you are acting ignorantly, and are not a compatible match for the friendly, courteous AND KNOWLEDGEABLE folks here in this great Forum. I hate to make statements like this, but I hate outward and overt ignorance worse.

Goodbye and good luck with finding more 'knowledgeable mechanics'.

I would speculate that either the radio got wired to a full time power source or the door latch is defective. Radio should have a keep-alive wire for the memory, and a separate ignition switched power source for the radio to actually operate.

Turn off the truck. Then when you exit the truck (with key in hand) are the interior lights on? Then when you close all the doors, do the interior lights fade out after a few seconds?
