if you have new front struts save your money do my strut mod. any machine shop can do it

I considered this. Actually, I think I even mentioned your strut mod in my original post. I can perform this myself because I have access to a full machine shop and the ability to complete the work. Its a very simple job with a little time on the lathe. Where did you get the correct measurements for the new grooves, Tony? I assume you just removed the snap ring from the factory groove, measured it, and then cut the new grooves to match?

.62 is 1 inch

you pop off the snap ring and measure the thickness and depth but be warned ive seen shops go to deep and call me that the truck fell down

Lol. That sucks big time! :rofl: If I chose to do this, it would be done properly. I wouldn't take any chances on something like this. I'm already amazed that the spring perch sits on that tiny ass snap ring as it is. Its unbelievable that its capable of supporting all that weight and spring tension during suspension travel without collapsing.

ive done a lot of trucks locally and from here with the mod ive never had a issue but yah snap ring design is pretty good.

Cool. Thanks for the info and if for some reason I decide to do this now or in the future I'll let you know how it goes.
