Need recommendation: Alternator is toast at 18 mos.

Well, the new KW1 160 amp ACdelco alternator is toast after only 18 months. Had the GM bearing whine from day 1. I'm open, even anxious to here your informed opinions for a better quality replacement.

The ACDelco units are remans (Bosch 334-2992A/19382177 or 335-1289/19338659). The GM OE alternators are new (15128978).

I always go OE when available.

MY new Delco Remy from the AutoParts stores 160amp is still going strong. Did you unit have any warranty??
