So i got around to to talking the molding off and while i was at it i figured why not take the gm logo and yukon lettering off. Well it looks weird. Maybe because its white? Maybe put the GM logo back? If i redo the yukon logo ill have to order newer ones since i broke both of my Y's on the old ones.

Now to the main issue. If you look closely to where the tape was holding on the molding, you can see a yellow tint outlining the tape area.I thought it was maybe from my yellow rag with acetone when i cleaned the area or marks from the eraser wheel, but it was on both sides, just driver is worse. I tried to use acetone, wax, buffer with heavy grit compound and light polish on a foam pad. Nothing. So i guess i need to wet sand and buff area?

What can yall suggest on the yellow area, clear seems to be fine, just the yellow tint and you can kinda see where the tape was even on the clean area so maybe a wet sand and rebuff will help.

Any suggestion on to keep no logos on or add some back? Still not sure what to do on the back gate. I will take the flex fuel off for sure, maybe take yukon logo off and just keep GMC?

Thanks for the help!

I don't have any suggestions for the yellowing, but I'd remove the logos from the back also. Maybe even the pillars.

Pillars? Are you talking about blacking out between my side windows?

The SLT behind the back doors is what he is referring to.
Ah, duh. Yea thats going also, just didnt get to it. I want to white out the front gmc logo and maybe back, but i think it would make it look cheap.

I guess the next step will be wet sand and buff if you've already tried heavy compound on straight drive buffer. I can barely see any yellow in the pics.

I didn't know what I was looking at since I didn't read your post. I couldn't see any yellowing.

I couldn't see any yellowing either. But if you tried the polish and that didn't pull than a wet sand would be the next step. Just try not to go too deep into your clear coat. Debadging the tailgate will tie it together I think.
Edit: I can see the yellowing when I open up the pics and make it bigger. On the corner of the back seat door. It almost looks like residue from your polish compound. Hard to tell what the texture is from a pic but that's kinda what it looks like.
