So looking around for a 5th wheel to match my others and that will not cost me an arm and leg to get shipped to me. Found the wheel but its not the same finish. I have black with machined faced wheels and got them shipped amazon prime. Now they are out of stock of that wheel and only have chrome plated same specs as mine. I'm going to build a swing hitch mounted spare tire carrier and wanted to have all matching wheels for that reason alone. Tire size I'm looking at some used 35 12.5 20s for around 600 bones or new 275 60 20s.

Options:

1. Buy chrome wheel free shipping and run with that on spare mount and if need to use it will be riding with one chrome wheel till flat or problem is fixed. And in the future pay about $150+ to get the other four wheels dipped.

2. Try and find matching wheel and pay god knows what for shipping.

3. Buy standard spare and either ditch the hitch mounted spare idea or throw in stock spare location. Other issue with this is I may be getting some 35s, not sure if that will fit in stock spare location. Which is other reason I was going to build the hitch mounted spare arm.
- along that, with the stock spare location? What is the biggest size tire that can fit under there? I'm not afraid to make it fit the 35s if need be. Other size I'm looking at unless I come across a deal will be the 275 60 20s

Obviously some options are cheaper than others but kind of at a dilemma since amazon is out of stock of my wheels.

Or you could by the chrome wheel, and eventually have it stripped and painted or powder coated.

I Believe the 275/60/20 will fit since the LTZ runs 275/55/20 and there is some room left.

You might be able to fit a 35" since it is only about 3 inches taller (1.5" closer to rear axle in the stock spare tire location). However, I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a little too big and there are some fitment issues. If you are lifted, you should also have more room.

dang so bent on being mad about not having all matching I did not even think of the option of stripping the chrome. Doing that myself would save me some money to and powder coating is a lot cheaper.

I was even looking at my truck today and thinking damn it may look sick with white face and silver where the black is now. In the future I really want to do a two tone and paint from the upper body line up a flat or metallic silver and also some accent silver pieces around the truck with the rest white. The truck will need a new paint job eventually due to a bad paint job in the past. Thanks @Jason_S

looks like the chrome is fairly easy to get off but the copper and nickel are the hard things to get off. With the wheel being a new wheel I would be good to just get the layer of chrome off then be able to prep and powder coat the other metals. No need to go all the bare to the aluminum it looks like. That is unless I can not get it powder coated to stick with the other metals. More research to do.

A good chrome shop would be able to strip all of that for you. Might not save as much, but you might like the finished product better.

i think I will just go ahead and buy the chrome for now, I may even spray some black plasti dip on it so its not as noticeable to be different from the others. I saw an FJ Cruiser today and they had a plastic cover over the spare wheel on their hatch so I may do something like that as well. Regardless I will have to relocate the license plate and it would be on the spare wheel as well.
