Trying to do some tire Shopping. Getting a lot of mixed reviews on Good year tires. Looking to put Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar tires on my 98 2 dr tahoe. 285/75 R16. from what i have read on here most people say the size shouldnt be a problem but does anyone have a review of these tires or just Goodyear in General or any suggestions

thanks

Crank it you must! <-in my best Yoda voice.

I read some tire reviews lately and they liked those tires. I don't run them myself, so I can't offer any personal experience with them.

I am getting a a lot of mixed reviews. Everything i have read on these tires say they are great. people in general are saying goodyears have turned to crap. Lot of $$ to waste on tires if they arent going to hold up

These brands hold up long enough, worth the money and have good reviews.

I've noticed some nice looking Nitto tyres. When I inquired last year with the local tire shop, they replied that they don't last as long as others, and even some customers brought them back. So I ended up buying bridgestone. But I really like to Nitto tread designs.

BTW, the I've all good things about the Goodyear MTR's. Especially back in my Jeep days. The Jeep guys are really happy they came stock on the Rubicon.

no crank needed. used that tire size on 3 different OBS. my father uses goodyears (not mtr but the factory Z71 style) on his 99 Z71 but never goes off road and hardy drives it. he has replaced them twice just because they got hard and starting making a lot of tire noise at highway speeds. they have worn even and lasted about 4 years each (only 25-30K). not sure how much the mtr tire will differ.

BFG KM2 > Goodyear MTR in my opinion. I don't have experience with them or know of anybody who does, but I used to run Goodyear Silent Armor tires and they were great. I didn't have any problems with them. I know guys running the BFG KM2 and love them. But like Devious said, those tires are best for mudders.

ok so im exploring all options of what everyone has said . came the to conclusion i like the following rim
* Dick Cepek DC-2 Wheel
* 16x8, 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
* BackSpace 4 in.
* Max Load= 2500lbs
* Finish = Black
* Hubcentric= No
* Offset = -12 mm

then i was thinking of the following Tire
* 285/75R-16,Pro Comp Xterrain Radial
* Load Range D
* Max Load 3305
* Tread Depth 16.5/32
* Overall Diameter 33.1 Inches
* Black SideWall
* Sidewall Construction=DualGuard

they dont make it in 265/75 R16 and TireRack.com said recommended tire for this side rim is 245/75R16. Can a 285 be put on a rim this size ?

I hate tire Shopping so many great choices out there and everyone has their own opinions . this forum so far has been a great help
