I took my Hoe into the shop today to get the belt changed since it was still under warranty and was free :) but anyways they said that my fan moved back and forth (when pulling it straight toward the cab and then straight forward) and it needed to be replaced soon because the bearings were going bad. It seems like it would be pretty easy to do myself unless I would need special tools to get the bearings out. Can I do this myself or not? Btw I'm very mechanically inclined, this is just my first truck and am still getting familiar with working on them. Thank you!

i take it you are talking about the fan clutch assembly. really freakin easy.

-remove top fan shroud
-unbolt fan from clutch assembly
-you'll have to hold the water pump pulley with a hex shaft flat screwdriver (craftsman worked great) and loosen it with a big adjustable.

then put it back together.

may have skipped something but you get the idea.

Yea sorry I did not know the actual name for it. I just know its the big fan right behind the radiator. I just didnt want to say that because I sound like a total noob. haha. But thank you I figured that it was probably really easy. Where can I order the new bearing for it? I take it that the bearing is easy to get out and replace? Or is it all one big assembly?

One assembly, really easy to do, maybe 30-40 minutes, tops.
Parts COULD be pricey, but don't have to be. Check locally (Napa, Kragen, Autozone, etc,) first, but online might be cheaper.

Thanks for the prices BigDaddy, those are very doable. Haha. Glad to hear this is an easy fix :) and ProComp, does it have to be a hex shaft screw driver? I literally dont have a single hex shaft one. Haha
