Then its time I gut the Onstar stuff in my (2) 03 Tahoes and my 05 Denali.

If I ever get around to it I'm going to reprogram the On Star steering wheel buttons to activate my Bluetooth (I replaced my head unit last year with a BT unit.)

I don't see any point in removing the microphone though. Would be nice if I could find a wireless way to get it to work with my BT phone but it would probably be less work to just run the BT mike up to the headliner anyway (right now it sits on top of the steering column.)

Yes, I was in the 101st aviation Brigade we were in Buehring in 2003 and again in 04 on our way home. I was at Q-West for the most of the time, and doing convoys from Arifjon to Mosul. Loved going out of the chopper on the rope it was fun. Never made it to Jump school, unit wouldnt send me too old they said, and they didnt want to let me go for 3 weeks of fun as my commander stated.

Thanks, Brother! Were you in the 101st? I was about 5 jumps away from getting my wreath when I transferred to a leg unit. I never rappelled out of a chopper but I liked flying in them. :D

Back in 2004 I was in Kuwait with a WY NG unit. One of our sister units was an air-ambulance company and they took 4 of us from my unit on an all day "training mission" (AKA joy ride) from Camp Buehring in Kuwait up to Tallil Airbase in Iraq in a Blackhawk. It was awesome: Balls-to-the-wall, 160 knots full speed and - no kidding - about 25' - 50' off the ground! It was crazy.

Well why not just solder the wiring together since both are mics the wiring should be similar enough that you should be able to solder the mic from onstar into the mic jack for BT, as for getting the buttons to work that might take a little more effort, but what about the metra product that allows you to keep onstar with an aftermarket radio that might be a way to set it up, not 100% on that though, but maybe a starting point to look into.
