Hello all im new here to the forum and to tahoes in general. i just picked up a white 97 4x4 2 door tahoe with 211k , and really nice grey cloth interior. it has a re-built top end and in dash tv and some 24's (wich are gone now in favor of my dads stock 02 avalanche wheels). i love the truck so far, it is very comfortable and cool to drive. the only issues are the a/c not working , it needs ball joints (wich i discovered once the 24's came off) and the passenger side inside door handle is broken. i really enjoy the truck , i am considering putting it back on some nicer 24" wheels or some 20" off-road wheels and tires. i really like the forum already and im sure it will be really healpfull! Thanks. Alex

Unless it's lifted, you won't really be able to fit 20" wheels with offroad tires as the minimum tire size would be 33's which will be hard to fit at stock height. I have that same setup (although lifted 6") and it looks goofy. I'm looking to change it up with smaller wheels and larger tires when funds allow.

What would be the difference in 20's/33's and 17's/33's? Just depends on width, backspacing and offset.

Welcome to the board!

If you're just going for looks, 18's look a little better for off-road tires. 20's won't give you enough sidewall to look right (in my opinion).
