The oil pressure sender/switch is a b-i-t-c-h to get to. Likely the problem, especially if no lifter clatter noises. But, there is also a chance of the o-ring at the oil pan pickup tube being bad and is a known problem. If do the switch, attach a mechanical gauge and get the reading before installing the new switch. Are you saying the oil pressure shows fine at the dash, you did not say.

Is that the 5.3 engine? RA shows a 5.3, a 6.0 electric/gas and the 6.2 engine.

The new switch comes with a screen as well, IIRR. It also makes a difference that if is oval or round at the wire connector. Takes either or of those designs.

Why would you feel you got screwed? You knew when you bought it that the transmission needed work and these switches can be good one minute and bad the next. Make sure to use the Genuine GM switch and screen.

@915_Tahoe can look at post #12 and see the last 8 digits of your VIN and look the switch up for you and give you a GM number.

was going to take the fam out last night to get some hot cocoa and drive around looking at christmas lights.... the transmission cable had a different idea. It popped off the side of the tranny, giving me nothing but air... Ugh just glad it happened in my driveway. Now my wife is unsure about driving in the truck , oh well!!! lol

You have the iron block 5.3 which has AFM and VVT, it's called the LMG. Suspension is the ZW7, Premium Smooth Ride, with the dumb shocks and struts, no fancy leveling stuff, just old school style.

Gearing and Towing, she's optimized for highway running with 3.08 gears and does not have the external engine oil and transmission oil coolers. Max Trailer Weight is 5,200 pounds, GCWR of 11,000 pounds.

From the photos, truck looks really clean. The salt corrosion on the aluminum looks recent.
