Hey everyone, I've been lurking around here for a while trying to gather as much info as possible since I picked up my Tahoe back in October. I sold a '97 Yukon 5 years ago and have missed it tremendously, so I began the hunt for another in March of '13. I finally found a rust-free, somewhat clean, fairly straight '98 Tahoe w/ 128k miles for $4200 only a couple hours from home.
Before I get into the progress so far, I'd like to say how impressed I am with the knowledge, expertise and eagerness to help that exists on this forum... along with some of the sickest (is that a word?? most sick... whatever) SUV's I've seen!!
Progress so far...
Picked it up on a Saturday and was at the shop Sunday for:
Full tune up
Fuel pump replacement
Leaky intake gasket
Sagging door hinges
Overall mechanical assesment
Full detail (engine bay looks brand new w/ no hope for the carpet)
How it looked when I got i...
This was my '97 Yukon

3 weeks later, I received...
Full Throttle Suspensions 6" Lift w/ Bilstein 5100's and 20"x9" Tuff T01's wrapped with 35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers
I spent a couple more weeks replacing headlight switch, 4x4 switch, head light housings w/ clear corners and other misc stuff that was worn. Then it was to my buddy's shop for:
HID's (hi's & low's)
Tint - 20% on front windows, 50% up front, and 5% sunstrip at top of windshield
Remote Start / alarm
Tinted tails w/ VHT - yeah, yeah I know. Was temp until I found some nice tails, but I kinda like them now
Rebuilt front end (steering was really sloppy)
2 weeks later I went back and started cutting, grinding & bolting on suspension stuff
While it was in the air, we went ahead and cleaned, pressure washed & painted the under carriage.
Which brings us to...
It is now in the very talented and capable hands of Steve Cook at Audio X in Florence, AL. To say this guy is a guru w/ audio is a HUGE understatement. You can follow that build here:

When I get it back, I'm gonna finish up the interior and send it to paint. In the mean time, I will be fabbing up some custom front/rear bumpers.
I am also starting some research on retrofiting projectors into OBS housings as I am not happy w/ the current setup. Any help there would be much appreciated.
