i have JL Audio C5-650. they really do sound great and handle everything i throw at them. using them with HD600/4.
great mids, clean spread hi's, very pristine clean bass(considering its a car speaker and isn't moral or better)

im use to barefoot and adam monitors infront of me all day... no they arent $5000+ dollar studio monitors but its a decent trade off considering the price difference.
before the jl's i had jbls, hifonics, mb quarts and planet audio BB comps... none of them have a sound quality of the Jl's.. and i've never been a jl fan... still dont like theirs subs but i'm loving their speakers

JL subs suck
been there done that years ago and wont ever do that again.
ive had w3's w6's and w7's...
JL mids i never used until now.
i had some planet audio BB65PRO's in the tahoe for a while. i liked them and you dont find to many 6.5's with 3 inch coils...those things could hit like 10's and maintain clarity.. only issue is the crossovers kept messing up when i had a kicker 600.4 and didnt even bother trying them when i got the hd600/4...
was gonna go focal b/c i have them in my car and before i lost my old denali(wreck) i had dynaudio 3 ways upfront and 2 ways in the back with digital designs amps.

i know plenty. once you've dealt with other stuff you may feel that they're ok, but nothing special.
i had 3 13w7's with mmats amps pushing a true 2000 watts rms to each one. system got low and where rather accurate imo, but vs my axis 12's...
the axis 12s hit harder, get much louder and maintain a level of accurateness that im use to from studio subs...
might scale this system back some now that i have a baby and need to put strollers and what not in the back of the truck...

i wasnt saying i LOVED their subs.. but i definitely like them alot... but i HATE their mids and highs..

But then again like you said im a focal and vibe audio guy so im a lil jaded towards ALL entry level shit... i think these jbls will def handle his wattage and make him happy though

What does this mean?

---------- Post added at 10:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 AM ----------

Also guys, my main concern right now is finding speakers at all that can handle 145RMS, every pair i find RMS is under 130. I just don't want to blow a pair

Isn't that 145 max output @4ohms? If that's the case it should be ok to use a speaker that can handle 130 rms, unless you plan on always running your amp at max power (which i doubt) you will be just fine witha 130rms speaker

i have the lower jbls(GTO608C) in my fiance's car and they can take the 200rms they're getting so i know the higher series (JBL C608GTI-mkII you looking at) should handle anything you toss at them
they're 2ohm comps on a PowerBass ASA 600.4x.. .

my next setup im going with stetsom or soundigital amps
