Man that's pricey. Alpine makes nice products though. I had their first ever flip out screen in high school. The CVA 1000. I'll never forget it. It costs me $1600 with a disc changer. I was in high school when I bought it.

It IS the first aftermarket 8" though... I'd like to see how good the nav portion of it is.

Alpine makes good stuff. I think they use tom tom for navi but I could be wrong.

Really? That would be sweet. That's who Apple just went with so hopefully you are right. I'm contemplating getting a new nav unit for my avy as the factory nav blows a big one. Not to mention its only a 6.5" screen :/

Naw, Alpine uses NAVTEQ for their navi. I'm still waiting for my local shop to get one so I can play around on it before I buy it.

Ya, you're right. Sony actually uses Tom Tom. I got the two confused.

I have a Pioneer, but wish I would have gone with an Alpine. I think they look a little nicer :)

As soon as its installed ill be sure to post up the pics of the Nav with the perfect FIT kit...BTW this is my first aftermarket nav, so been waiting a long time for a good one, so i didnt mind the price for a top quality unit...
