Hey all, new member from Grand Rapids, MI. Long-time shade tree with a degree, picked up an '05 shorty Escalade for more than I want to say lol but that's the market here! 205,000 miles but it's an Arizona/Nevada truck and has only seen 5 years of Michigan salt and sludge. So just surface rust underneath and a few small dings here and there. Runs good. I had to replace the radiator, clean up the blend door actuator, replaced the back wood door trim pieces, put a new light sensor in the dash (the old one was missing the cover). There's a few things that I still will have to do at some point. The transfer case chain is loose (I have a new chain just have to get around to it), the rear mode door actuator makes noise when it runs (constantly on automatic) and only goes so far, the outside temperature reads "OC" on the mirror (I can only assume that means "Open Circuit"?), seems to be burning/leaking more than a fair amount of oil, the front of the driver's seat won't lower, it has an aftermarket roof dvd that doesn't work (didn't have a factory one as far as I can tell), have a cat CEL, needs a spare tire, and the rear wiper swipes once barely touches the window and then is done. I have a satnav radio on it's way along with the adapter for the steering wheel controls, and I have a pair of headrest monitors ("official" ones with the logo on). Oh and the waterpump bearing squeaks on cold startup but goes away after it's warm . That's about it!
If it's easy to post pics on here, I like to use descriptive posts to walk through my fixes as I go to help anyone else that may run into the same problems, along with the thought processes that lead to the correct diagnosis when I can!
anyway looking forward to going through posts and reading everyone's stories!
Salud!
