Hey guys. I have a 2000 Denali with the 5.7. At 180k it has developed a rather nice knock at start up and there was quite a bit of metal on the plug during the last oil change. I am putting a new engine in its place.

Now I have a pile of small block parts and what I am thinking about doing is taking a ZZ4 I have down to a short block, then installing a set of Etec 170 heads I have as well.

What I don't know about is the intake manifold and injectors. I don't know if on a daily driver it is worth the money to buy an aftermarket intake manifold and if I should replace the injectors while I am in there. I will be installing long tube headers while the engine is out. I am planning on having the truck custom tuned when I have finished the swap too.

Can you guys give me any tips or advise on what I have above.

thanks
micky

Do a vic Jr outfitted with 8 injectors and a throttle body, swap to a 411 ecu and custom tune it all. :D
