Got rid of the wife's '02 Tahoe for $1K less than we paid 4 years ago, sweet. Then went on the hunt for a new family rig. I found this locally at a luxury car place (Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, etc.) on consignment from a funeral home owner. Yes, it did funeral duty but NO DEAD BODIES they promised haha. And I quote the dealer about this being in their inventory... "We can't have this sitting here tarnishing our image" :rotflmao:

It's an 09 LT, very clean with 50K miles and the best part...it was had for $24K. I then sent it to the shop for Katzkin leather and DVD (mama's orders). They did a great job on the leather. I have done the leather install myself before and vowed never to mess with it again, for $1200 total it was worth every penny. We'll be getting some factory 20's as soon as we agree on which ones, then some GM all weather mats and remote start. That's it for mods until my wife is done with it and it gets passed on to me (which could be awhile!).

We drove it around for 2 days and discovered an oil leak, from the rear main seal or crankshaft position sensor is my guess. Also the trans temp is up to 200 in normal driving, which I'm thinking is high for a 6L80e. We dropped it off at the dealership today, they should fix the oil leak and let me know what the deal with the temp is under warranty. It has been regularly serviced, no signs of abuse whatsover, so I'm not worried. Still happy!

For reference, the same 20's that are on my crew cab are what we're thinking will look good...and keeping the 17's for winter wheels as the tires are BRAND NEW.

Here's the '71. It's torn apart from the firewall forward at the moment, I'm cleaning up the engine bay and addressing lots of little things (a/c, wiring, etc).

And the '50...it will be back on the front burner as soon as the '71 rehab is complete.
