Two days ago I found a Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L Magnum I wanted. Needless to say it wasn't in the shape that it's price tag warranted. Depressed....I'm a huge Dodge fan and this was a setback. I am running into an opportunity of a lifetime and need a reliable vehicle that can tow approximately 5000 lbs when needed without having to worry if it was capable. I decided that next week I will look for another love since I'm on vacation. I woke up and decided to do my daily Craigslist check but knew I wasn't going to look at any vehicles as I had to Go to work in a few hours. I then saw a 1999 Tahoe with the 5.7L Vortec listed for 3500. I hop out of bed and give the guy a call and its still available. I decided to take the wife and go look at it. Wr hop in my mustang and ride out. Wr get to the location and I see a Blue Tahoe glistening in the sun. Body and interior is immaculate condition, engine is cleaner than any of my other 3 vehicles. 151K miles on the dash but from it's one owner (verified) it had most definitely been taken care of. On a test Drive I decided to floor it. Wow!!!!! From a heavy beast it can still get up. Next I test the brakes. Pretty decent IMO. She purrs quietly and doesn't leak nor tap. I've never been a GM fan but I was sold. A new found love. Forgetting I drove my Mustang there, which is 5-speed, and my wife who accompanied me cannot Drive manual, I was hurt. A simple mistake of buying this vehicle and can't enjoy it's first 50 miles in my name. My wife loves it too. She loves it soo much she left her new Taurus home and took my Tahoe as I got dressed for work. She snuck out quietly and sent an I love you text. I didn't know what she meant until I looked in my driveway and saw three familiar cars but not the one I just bought. Sneaky girl she is. But she knows I fell in love with this truck and she wants to Drive it before I start my mods. No cars in my name stays stock once I learn the engine capabilities. My wife knows that and wanted to torture me so I can't do anything the first day of owning it.
